As a senior aide to Senator Dianne Feinstein, Deputy Chief of Staff for County Supervisor James Ramos and now a Director of the East Valley Water District Board of Directors, my career has been dedicated to making policy decisions on issues affecting Southern California counties, including land use, renewable energy development, environmental conservation and water policy, all while balancing municipal and private interests. I have experience navigating the federal, state and local political channels and have solidified a strong working relationship with the elected officials and their staff, local business owners and special interest groups in Southern California.

Political Experience

East Valley Water District Board of Directors

As a Director of the Board, my responsibilities include shaping water policy, establishing rates and rate structure and providing overall guidance and direction for the East Valley Water District and the 100,000 rate payers of the District serving Highland, part of San Bernardino and Mentone.

Deputy Chief of Staff to Third District County Supervisor

As Supervisor Ramos' Deputy Chief of Staff, I advised the Supervisor on policy issues for San Bernardino County and for the Third District. Specifically, I chaired the inaugural 2014 Give Big campaign, the county's first 'give day' that raised $548,000 in 24 hours on May 8th benefitting SB County's local nonprofits and charitable organizations which included the involvement of 300+ volunteers. I worked with EDA on promoting tourism-based jobs in the county, creating San Bernardino County's first dedicated tourism website and helping to develop the 2014 Countywide Tourism Summit. I helped draft the County's first renewable energy solar ordinance balancing the needs of conservation, community and renewable energy projects for 1.5 million acres. I also managed the Supervisor's field staff representing the East Valley, Big Bear, Barstow and the Morongo Basin. Finally, as a licensed attorney in California, I advised the Supervisor on legal issues as they came before the Board.

Senior Field Representative to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein

For over 6 years, I served as the sole aide to Senator Feinstein in San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange Counties.  I updated the Senator on federal issues in these southern California counties and offered policy recommendations.  I worked with San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange County Board of Supervisors, Mayors for over 90 cities and relevant local, state and federal organizations.  I also scheduled and coordinated public appearances for the Senator during state visits.

Employment and Labor Law Practice

My practice is dedicated to assisting employees with employment and labor law issues.  The areas of focus include employment discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation and hostile work environment claims.

Representative clients:

- An employee of a regional hospital who suffered sexual harassment, hostile work environment and was ultimately terminated by retaliation for lodging complaints about the hospital's violations of CA Health and Safety Code.

- An employee of a national food distributor who was wrongfully terminated.

- A health care technician who was illegally terminated on the basis of age.

- A school district employee who was discriminated agains on the basis of her sexual orientation and terminated upon raising the issue of abuse by her supervisor.
